The National Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association (NOWRA) is the national professional organization formed         to advance and promote the onsite wastewater industry.

The National Small Flows Clearinghouse at West Virginia University is a nonprofit organization funded by the U.S.         Environmental Protection Agency that assists small communities with their wastewater-related issues.

The Broward County, Florida Department of Natural Resource Protection includes an excellent publication in pdf         format called "You and Your Septic Tank." 

An international conference on Onsite Wastewater issues is held every 2 years in Armidale, Australia organized by         Lanfax Labs.   Dr. Kevin Sherman, then Executive Director of the Florida Onsite Wastewater Association, was         the keynote speaker at the conference in 2001. The next conference is scheduled for September of 2007.
